NETBALL: Forbes, Griffiths return to Sunshine Girls' squad

Published:Friday | September 5, 2014 | 9:19 AM

Simone Forbes and Anna-Kay Griffiths have rejoined the Jamaica senior netball squad.

Forbes, a former captain, had retired from national duty in May 2011.

Her retirement came two days after she was denied a reduction of a doping ban for clomiphene.

Forbes was banned in April 2011 for three months after the Jamaica Anti-doping Commission Disciplinary Committee ruled that she had violated an anti-doping regulation.

Griffiths took a leave of absence following the 2011 Netball World Championships in Singapore.

The Sunshine Girls are back in training following a one-month break after they won the bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

The team is now preparing for the Fast5 Netball World Series in New Zealand from November 8-9.
