ATHLETICS: Spencer, Williams-Mills among nine Jamaicans to compete in Brussels today
The 2014 Diamond League Series ends today in Brussels, Belgium with nine Jamaicans taking part.
Among the Jamaicans taking part are Kaliese Spencer and Novlene Williams-Mills, who have already won the Diamond League titles in their events.
Spencer won the women’s 400-metre hurdles Diamond League title following victories in Eugene, Rome, Oslo, Monaco and Birmingham.
Williams-Mills took the women’s 400-metre Diamond League title with victories in Shanghai, Eugene, Oslo and Stockholm.
She finished third in Paris and London.
Three Jamaicans will appear in the men’s 100 metres. They are Commonwealth Games champion Kemar Bailey-Cole, Asafa Powell and Nesta Carter.
The Jamaicans will face off with Americans Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay and Michael Rodgers.
The other Jamaicans down to compete today are Commonwealth Games champion Stephenie-Ann McPherson in the women's 400 metres, Andrew Riley in the men's 110-metre hurdles and Kimberly Williams in the women's triple jump.
