Four men including a Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) soldier are now in custody of the Morant Bay Police facing robbery and illegal possession of gun and ammunition charges.

Reports reaching The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre are that the men were allegedly held with two nine millimetre pistols and ammunition in St Thomas last night after they allegedly robbed a petrol station.

Detectives in Morant Bay would only confirm that the men have been detained following a robbery at a gas station in Port Morant.

However, informed sources in Port Morant say that at about 8 p.m. yesterday four men armed with guns entered a gas station in the community where they held up the sales person and demanded money.

The men reportedly fled in a motor car.

The Morant Bay Police were alerted and cornered the vehicle with the suspect close to Morant Bay.
