FOOTBALL: Manning Cup resumes with eight games

Six teams will be hunting their second victory from as many games when the 2014 season of the ISSA/LIME urban-area Manning Cup football competition resumes today.



There will be eight games across three groups.



Charlie Smith, who beat Mona High 1-0 in their opening Group B fixture on Saturday, will now host Cumberland.



That game will be played at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex.



Also in Group B, Vauxhall will begin their 2014 season against Excelsior at home.



Over in Group C, Denham Town High, Ardenne and Innswood who were winners on Saturday’s first day will also be in action.



Denham Town and Ardenne will face at the Edward Seaga Stadium, while Innswood will visit St Mary’s College.



The group also features Edith Dalton against Tivoli High.



The remaining three games are from Group F where Calabar and Hydel secured opening day wins on Saturday.



Calabar High will now play away to St Jago at Prison Oval in Spanish Town, while Hydel will visit Eltham High.



The group’s other match features Penwood hosting St Catherine.



All matches are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
