The People’s National Party is standing behind its proposed candidate for South East Clarendon, Patricia Duncan Sutherland despite strong opposition from some party supporters.

Duncan Sutherland who is the daughter of long time politician and Member of Parliament for Eastern Hanover, DK Duncan, announced her intention to go up against the Jamaica Labour Party's incumbent, Ruddy Spencer earlier this year.

She says she’s aware of the mounting opposition to her proposed candidacy.

However according to Duncan Sutherland, she is not going anywhere.

She has been assured of the support of several members of the party including PNP General Secretary Paul Burke, her father DK Duncan and Senator Floyd Morris.
