27-year-old Kingston man dies in motor vehicle collision

There has been yet another death on the nation’s roads.



The police are reporting that 27-year-old Thesfa Parchment of Rodney Road, Kingston 13 died yesterday from injuries he received following a motor vehicle collision.



The crash happened along the Waltham Park Road, Kingston 13.



The police say about 8:30 yesterday morning Parchment was riding his motorcycle along the roadway when on reaching the intersection of Waltham Park and Nelson roads he collided with a Suzuki Vitara motor vehicle.



The police say both drivers were taken to hospital, where Parchment was pronounced dead.



The other driver was warned for prosecution.



Recently, the National Road Safety Council, and the Ministry of Transport expressed alarm at the number of road fatalities.



It was reported that in the seven-day period from August 28 to September 3, some 20 persons were killed on the nation’s road.
