Published:Tuesday | September 9, 2014 | 10:55 AM

Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz will step up their preparation for the Caribbean Cup when they face Canada in a friendly football international in Toronto today.

The match will be played at the BMO Field, starting at 6:30 in the evening Jamaica time.

Reggae Boyz head coach Winfried Schäfer says the match will provide him with vital information about players he needs to select for the November 10-18 Caribbean Cup in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The squad includes six local-based players.

They are Waterhouse’s Jermaine ‘Tuffy’ Anderson, Evan Taylor, Kenardo Forbes, Nicholy Finlayson, Upston Edwards and Harbour View’s Kemar Lawrence.

The match is Jamaica’s first since a tough four-game tour between May and June, when the Reggae Boyz lost to Serbia - 2-1 and Switzerland - 1-0, drew 2-2 with Egypt, before being trounced by World Cup-bound France 8-0.
