BADMINTON: Four-member Jamaica team to compete in Mexico

Published:Wednesday | September 10, 2014 | 8:04 AM

Samuel Ricketts and Katherine Wynter head a four-member Jamaica team to the Pan American Badminton Festival, which will start today in Mexico City.

The other members of the Howard Ranger-coached team are Jamari Rose and Mikaylia Haldane.

The Jamaica Badminton Association (JBA) says it chose to participate in the tournament as part of the development of their players.

The JBA says the tournament will help to create a lot more depth and experience in the senior team.

Jamaica recently captured three medals at the Pan American Junior Badminton Championships, which was held in Guatemala in July.

Following this tournament, the senior male and female teams are scheduled to participate in the PAN American Senior Badminton Championships in Toronto, Canada, in October.
