Members of Jamaica’s local-based players are scheduled to return from Totonto tonight after the Reggae Boyz suffered a 3-1 defeat to Canada last night in a friendly football international.

The game was played BMO Field.

It was the fourth defeat in the last five games for the Winfried Schäfer side.

The Reggae Boyz had a tough four-game tour between May and June, when they lost to Serbia - 2-1 and Switzerland - 1-0, drew 2-2 with Egypt, before being trounced by World Cup-bound France 8-0.

In the game last night, Kemar Lawrence of Harbour View FC put Jamaica ahead in the 30th minute, but Canada quickly drew level a minute later through defender David Edgar.

Second-half goals by Marcel de Jong and Tosaint Ricketts handed Canada their first victory since October 12, 2012.

The match was part of the Reggae Boyz’ preparation for the November 10-18 Caribbean Cup in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
