Marine police make drug seizure in Old Harbour Bay

The Marine Police say they have seized a large quantity of compressed ganja in the Portland Bight area of Old Harbour Bay, St Catherine.



They say the seizure was made yesterday evening.



They say about 6 p.m. they were on patrol in the mangrove area of the Portland Bite when two men were seen loading packages onto a canoe.



The police team went to investigate and the men fled the scene.



The police say more than 200 pounds of compressed ganja, with a street value of over $1 million was found in the packages and about 200 litres of petrol.

They say no arrest was made in relation to the find.
