Attorney Dawn Satterswaite to know her fate today

Published:Friday | September 12, 2014 | 9:27 AM

Attorney-at-law Dawn Satterswaite is expected to know her fate today.

Satterswaite and four other co-accused are before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court in relation to a multimillion-dollar money-laundering case.

The co-accused are Janet Ramsey, Paulette Higgins, Annmarie Cleary and Andre Hamilton.

All five are accused of being connected to convicted drug dealer and ex-policeman, Andrew Hamilton.

The charges are based on allegations that over an 11-year period starting in 1989 Satterswaite purchased properties valued at close to $500 million for Hamilton who is now serving a lengthy prison sentence in the United States.

Prosecutors say the properties were registered in the names of relatives and family friends and were being managed by Satterswaite.

When the case was called up on Wednesday their attorneys asked the court to dismiss the charged or adjourn the case indefinitely.

Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey reserved her decision to today.
