ATHLETICS: Two-day IAAF Continental Cup begins in Marrakech

The 2014 Diamond League winners Kaliese Spencer and Novlene Williams-Mills will be among the Jamaicans in action for the Americas team today when the two-day IAAF Continental Cup begins in Marrakech, Morrocco.



Spencer competes in the women’s 400-metre hurdles final and is the big favourite to win, while Williams-Mills runs the women’s 400-metre final.



Kimberly Williams will be the first Jamaican in action.



She represents the Americas team in the women’s triple jump final at 12:45 p.m. Jamaica time.



Other Jamaicans scheduled to compete today for the Americas today are Nesta Carter in the men’s 100-metre final, O’Dayne Richards in the men’s shot put final and Veronica Campbell-Brown and Samantha Henry-Robinson in the 4 by 100-metre final.



Athletes are competing for their continents - Africa, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe.
