52-year-old St James vendor killed

A 52-year-old vendor was shot and killed by an unknown assailant at the intersection of Fustic Road and Railway Lane in St James yesterday.



The deceased has been identified as Byron Cameron, otherwise called ‘Carba’, of Blackshop, Flamstead in St James.



The police say shortly before three o’clock yesterday afternoon, Cameron was allegedly selling ground provisions at the intersection when an armed man approached him.



The assailant reportedly opened fire hitting Cameron, who died on the spot.



No motive has been established for the killing.
