Unbearable heat keeps judges' secretaries off the job

Published:Wednesday | September 17, 2014 | 10:05 AM

Eight Supreme Court Judge's Secretaries did not turn up for work yesterday.

It is understood that they’ve been complaining for several months about the unbearable heat at their offices.

The workers received portable air conditioning units to cool the area last year.

However, they say the space is too big to be cooled in this manner.

According to them several of them have become ill as a result of the unbearable conditions.

Chief Justice, Zalia McCalla and officials from Court Management Services are to meet with the disgruntled workers today to discuss the matter.
