Clarendon man attempts to smuggle soaps stuffed with ganja to inmate, charged

MAY PEN, Clarendon:

The police have charged a Clarendon man who tried to smuggle contraband into a cell at the May Pen Police lock-up.




He is Marlon Johnson of Halse Hall Clarendon.



The police say about 12:30 p.m. yesterday, Johnson brought personal items for an inmate which were searched.



The search revealed that soaps were stuffed with contraband.



Johnson was arrested and charged with possession of ganja and breaching the Correctional Services Act.



The police say from time to time people try to smuggle items to inmates.



They say as a result they have had to increase their vigilance.
