KINGSTON, Jamaica:

The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) says it has no intention of operating its buses out of the downtown Kingston transportation centre.

Colin Campbell, the managing director of the bus company, said operating from the centre, built a few years ago, would push up the company's cost by $1 million per month.

He said that the JUTC is currently in discussions with the Urban Development Corporation, but said unless there is significant change in the structure of the proposal, the JUTC will not shift its operations to the centre.
