FOOTBALL: FIFA tells officials to return watches given as gifts

FIFA has asked its officials to return £16,000 watches gifted to them by the Brazilian Football Federation, or risk disciplinary action.

The commemorative gifts were handed out by one of the Brazilian Football Federation's sponsors to various people at the World Cup, including 28 members of FIFA's executive committee.

FIFA vice-president Jim Boyce found the watch in a souvenir bag in his garage last week and will return it next week.

It is unknown what happened to the gift bag for the English FA.

Several officials did report the watches to the ethics committee.
