Detectives attached to the Fraud Squad yesterday arrested and charged a man for fraudulent conversion.

He is 32-year-old Andrew McKenzie of Swon Road, Kingston 11.

The Police say on Tuesday, June 3, the Fraud Squad received a complaint from a man who reportedly gave McKenzie $800,000 to purchase a Toyota Hiace mini bus in November of last year.

The complainant, however, did not receive the motor vehicle or get back his money.

The matter was reported to the police and the Fraud Squad subsequently launched an investigation.

The police say McKenzie was subsequently taken into custody, questioned and was later arrested and charged.

He has since been bailed with a surety in the sum of $100,000.

McKenzie is to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, October 7.
