T&T Piarco airport declared safe, bomb squad gives go-ahead after 'suspicious bag' check
Trinidad and Tobago’s National Operations Center has declared the Piarco International Airport safe after confirming that the bomb squad had checked a 'suspicious bag' at the airport last night.
The Center’s executive director, Commander Garvin Heerah, notes that the bag was checked by the bomb squad of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and that all safety measures had been employed.
Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar left the country last night for the United States to attend the annual meeting of the United Nations General Assembly.
