Man causes bomb scare at nursing school, charged

Twenty-eight-year-old Yuhan Winter, has been charged with causing public mischief after he caused a bomb scare at the University of Technology’s St James campus of the Caribbean School of Nursing last week.



Reports from the Barnett Street Police are that about 11 Thursday night, a call was allegedly made to the campus to inform them that a bomb was on the roof.



According to the caller, the bomb would be detonated within five minutes.



The Police, fire department and other emergency services were summoned.



On their arrival, the area was searched.



However, nothing was found.



Winter, who is from Albion in the parish, was subsequently arrested and charged.



He is expected to appear before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court on September 25.
