The Jamaican Bar Association says its members are horrified by the murder yesterday of Constable James Grant while on duty in August Town.

In a statement this morning, the association’s president Donovan Walker, said all right thinking Jamaicans must collectively condemn what he calls the senseless and vicious act.

The Bar Association says it categorically denounces and condemns any acts of violence in any form against officers of the security forces.

Walker says such murders are attacks on the rule of law.

He is encouraging members of the Jamaican Constabulary Force not to be detracted or discouraged in the carrying out of their sworn duties by yesterday’s incident.
