450 pounds of ganja Seized in Clarendon

The Area 3 Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division has seized more than 450 pounds of compressed ganja in Hayes district, Clarendon.



The ganja was seized during an operation Tuesday night.



According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit lawmen were on operation in the area when they signalled the driver of a Toyota Altis to stop.



The driver allegedly attempted to elude the Police but was later intercepted.

However, he ran from the motor vehicle.



The vehicle was subsequently searched and 95 parcels containing compressed ganja weighing approximately 455 pounds was found.



The estimated value of the illicit drug is $2.3 million.



No one was arrested in connection with the find.
