A police corporal who is already before the courts on charges of simple larceny and receiving stolen property is facing additional charges.

Corporal Stafford Barrett, who is attached to the Protective Services Division, is booked to appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s Court on October 28 to answer to the additional charge.

The Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency says following further investigation it has charged him with the additional offence of fraudulent use of registration plates.

Barrett was charged in May after police investigators recovered a stolen Toyota Corolla motor car at his home in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

The police say the motor car was reported stolen in Hopewell, Hanover earlier that month.
