New Zealand beats Bangladesh in second Test

Hosts New Zealand yesterday completed a two game series whitewash against Bangladesh in the second Test at Basin Reserve.



New Zealand dismissed the visitors for 113 to win the match by an innings and 137 runs. Tamim Iqbal did not bat because of a broken thumb.



Bangladesh resumed the third morning on 51 for five, still needing 199 runs to make New Zealand bat again.



Chris Martin, Kyle Mills, Iain O’Brian and Jacob Oram each took two wickets as New Zealand took 25 overs to wrap up the innings.



Martin finished with match figures of seven for 99 and was named Man of the Match.



Shakib Al Hasan top-scored for Bangladesh with an unbeaten 41.



Final scores are Bangladesh 143 and 113 while New Zealand 393.



New Zealand won the first Test in Auckland by nine wickets.
