HOCKEY: Men;s competition at World League starts today
Host nation Jamaica and Barbados will contest the first match of the men's competition at the Hockey World League at Mona when the tournament resumes today.
The match begins at 4:30 p.m. and is the only men's fixture on the day.
There will be two women’s fixtures before the men's match.
Action starts at 11:30 a.m. with Puerto Rico facing Barbados.
Then at 2 p.m. early leaders Dominican Republic and Trinidad and Tobago will face off.
The Dominican Republic blanked Jamaica 3-0 for a perfect start on yesterday’s opening day, while T&T defeated Puerto Rico 5-1 in the tournament's opener.
The Hockey World League is split up into four rounds that last over a two-year cycle.
For cycle one, the World League will serve as the qualifier for the World Cup, and in the next cycle, it is the qualifier for the Olympics.
The tournament will run until Sunday.
