Eight business operators arrested for electricity theft

Published:Thursday | October 2, 2014 | 10:24 PM

The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) is reporting that in recent weeks its crackdown on electricity theft among business operators has resulted in more arrests.

In a release, the JPS says six of the business operators were arrested last month.

It says the operations to go after these persons were made possible by information provided to Crime Stop.

It is against that background the JPS is encouraging more Jamaicans to report cases of electricity theft to the company and the police.

The light and power company says all information will be treated with confidentiality.
