Jamaica's Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Ministry says it is in contact with the authorities in Trinidad and Tobago in relation to the murder of a Jamaican man last month.

Tremaine Thomas was reportedly shot and killed in Port-of-Spain on September 25.

Jamaica says it is in dialogue with Trinidad and Tobago through its High Commission there.

The Ministry says it has been advised that an investigation into the man's death is being conducted by the police in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Foreign Affairs and Foreign trade Ministry also says it is in contact with Thomas' family.

Trinidadian media say the Jamaican was among five men, including an alleged police killer, who were shot in the violent Laventille area of the country.
