PM gets working, working ... leads clean-up in her constituency

Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller will this morning lead the clean-up effort to control the spread of the chikungunya virus in her South West St Andrew constituency.

The initiative got underway at 7 o’clock.

She joined community members in the Payne Land Division, along Spanish Town Road in clearing the area of debris and possible mosquito breeding sites.

Among the agencies participating in today’s clean-up are the National Solid Waste Management Authority, the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation, the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency management and the local government ministry.
