FOOTBALL: DaCosta Cup resumes with rescheduled games

Published:Monday | October 6, 2014 | 12:08 PM

Titchfield will need a point to qualify for the inter-zone round when the rural-area ISSA/LIME daCosta Cup football competition resumes with a number of rescheduled games.

Titchfield will host Happy Grove in a Group L bottom-of-the-table fixture.

However, a point from the fixture will see Titchfield moving ahead of second place Port Antonio.

Titchfield and Port Antonio are locked on eight points, but Port Antonio have completed their schedule.

Group leaders Fair Prospect, who are a point ahead of Titchfield and Port Antonio, have already secured their inter-zone spot.

The preliminary stage of the competition was scheduled to end last Saturday.

However, several games on the day were affected because of rain.

In addition, some games were not played as some teams were affected by players showing symptoms of the chikungunya virus.

All matches today are scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
