CRICKET: Pakistan 90-5 chasing 256 to win

Pakistan, set a victory target of 256, were 90 for five after 21 overs in the first day-night One-Day International against Australia in Sharjah.



Umar Akmal is on 20.



Mitchell Johnson and Nathan Lyons have taken two wickets apiece.



Earlier, Steven Smith hit his maiden hundred to propel Australia to 255 for eight.



The 25-year-old anchored the Australian innings during his 118-ball 101.

He hit six boundaries and two sixes after Australia decided to bat on a flat Sharjah Stadium pitch.



Smith received support from David Warner who hit 43 during an 86-run second wicket stand.



Shahid Afridi was the best Pakistani bowler with 3 for 46, after going wicket-less in his last six matches.



The remaining one-day matches will be played in Dubai on October 10 and Abu Dhabi on October 12.



The one-day matches will be followed by two Tests.
