Driver swerves to avoid hitting goats, kills man

A 56-year-old man has died from injuries he sustained this morning after being hit by a car swerving to avoid goats.

Dead is Carlton Gilbert of Carib Heights in Ocho Rios, St Ann.

The police say that about 6:15 a.m., the driver of a Nissan Sylphy motorcar travelling towards St Mary allegedly swerved out of the road to avoid hitting a herd of goats and lost control of his vehicle.

The driver allegedly collided into Gilbert, who was walking along the roadway.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
