FOOTBALL: KC to prove too good for Campion in Manning Cup matchup

Published:Thursday | October 9, 2014 | 10:19 AM

Kingston College (KC), who have suffered two embarrassing defeats inside three days, are confidently expected to snap their losing streak today and take the final spot in the ISSA/LIME Manning Cup football competition.

The North Street-based school will take on Campion College in the last match of the preliminary round.

Campion College, who are without a point from seven games, will host the game at 3:30 p.m.

KC’s embarrassing defeats came against St Georges and Waterford.

They were humiliated 7-0 by St George’s College on Saturday, which resulted in the sacking of head coach Lenworth Hyde.

Under stand-in coach, Neil Harrison, the track and field coach, KC were stunned 4-2 at home by Waterford.

With the victory, Waterford moved into second spot in the group on 13 point, one ahead of KC.

However, the ‘Purples’ are up against a poor Campion College team and should easily win the contest.
