CRICKET: West Indies 'A' suffers 10-wicket defeat against Sri Lanka 'A'

West Indies ‘A’ suffered a 10-wicket defeat against Sri Lanka ‘A’ in the first four-day cricket match in Hambantota today.



Resuming the final day on 175 for seven after being asked to follow-on, West Indies ‘A’ were bowled out for 285 runs leaving Sri Lanka ‘A’ a target of 33 for victory.



Sri Lanka “A” reached the target in 4.3 overs with all 10 wickets in hand.



Earlier, Shane Shillingford and Nikita Miller carried their eight-wicket stand from 92-106.



Miller was the first to go.



The Jamaican was dismissed for 46 after resuming on 37; while Shillingford went for 63 after starting the day on 56.



Final scores in the match - Sri Lanka A 413 and 33 without loss; West Indies A 160 and 285.



The two teams will play the second four-day match from October 18 to 21 at Matara.
