Three policemen hospitalised after accident

Three policemen and a civilian are now at the Kingston Public Hospital in serious condition following a motor vehicle accident in St Mary yesterday afternoon.

The men were first taken to the Annotto Bay Hospital then transferred to Kingston yesterday.

The three detectives, who are reportedly attached to the St Andrew Central Police, were reportedly in stable condition late last night.

It is reported that the three detectives and the civilian were travelling in a police service vehicle along the Gray’s Inn main road about 12:50 p.m. when the accident occurred.

Reports suggest a motor truck which was travelling in the opposite direction slammed into the police car and the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The four in the police service vehicle and the driver of the motor truck were taken to hospital where the truck driver was treated and released.

The police have not identified the injured policemen or the civilian.
