The People’s National Party (PNP) has announced that its delegates conference for the selection of a caretaker for Westmoreland Central will now be held on Sunday.

The conference should have been held on October 12 at the Mannings School in Savanna-la-Mar.

The PNP says 841 members from 63 registered PNP groups, will be eligible to cast ballots for either attorney-at-law Michael Erskine or businessman Dwayne Vaz.

It says only persons whose names are on the voters list and who have proper identification will be allowed to enter The Mannings School.

Polling will take place between the hours of 10 o’clock in the morning and 3 in the afternoon.

The party says counting of ballots is expected to be completed by approximately 4:30 in the afternoon.

The party had named Erskine as its candidate to replace the late member of parliament, Roger Clarke.

However, former vice-president of the party, Dr Karl Blythe took the matter to court to demand that a selection process be held.

The party then said it would have the vote, however, Blythe has since withdrawn from the race.
