KINGSTON, Jamaica:

The police say the three children who were this evening shot and injured by a gunman in Kingston have been admitted to hospital in stable condition.

The children were shot at the intersection of North and Church streets in downtown Kingston.

Preliminary reports suggest that about 7:20 p.m., the three minors; two 15-year-old and one 7-year-old, were walking in the area when a man on foot approached them and opened gunfire hitting all three.

They were rushed to the hospital where they have been admitted.
