CRICKET: West Indies 'A', Sri Lanka 'A' in tame draw

West Indies ‘A’ and hosts Sri Lanka ‘A’ played to a tame draw in their rain interrupted second four-day match at the Uyanwatte Stadium today.

Only 25 overs of play were possible on today’s fourth and final day, after the first day was completely rained out.

Resuming from their overnight score of 63 for 4, Sri Lanka tumbled to 161 for nine at the close.

Part-time spinner Jermaine Blackwood of Jamaica was the best bowler for West Indies ‘A’ with three for 44, while Miguel Cummins and Shannon Gabriel picked up two wickets apiece.

Upul Tharanga 40 and Tharindu  Kaushal 33 scored most runs for Sri Lanka ‘A’.

Sri Lanka 'A' lead the series one-nil with the third and final four-day match due to start on Saturday in Moratuwa.

Final scores in the match – Sri Lanka ‘A’ 166 and 161 for nine; West Indies ‘A’ 151.
