Security minister seeks to quell fears of Bog Walk residents

Minister of National Security Peter Bunting has sought to assure residents of Bog Walk in St Catherine that measures are being put in place to stem the recent upsurge in crime in their community.

Addressing residents following a tour of the area on Friday, Bunting says the police have already deployed additional resources to the community.

Residents of Bog Walk have been rocked by a quadruple killing and a triple murder in recent weeks.

Among those killed are four men believed to be transporting a payroll for China Harbour Engineering Company.

Speaking during a community meeting at the New Life Tabernacle Church, Bunting told residents that his visit to the community was to assure them that his ministry is determined to end the violence.

Police Commissioner Dr Carl Williams, who was a part of the tour, appealed to the residents to support the police in their crime fighting efforts and to speak out against the gangsters in their community.
