FOOTBALL: Wolmer's, St George's face off for Manning Cup semi-final spot

Wolmer’s Boys and St George’s College will face off again today, this time for a spot in the semi-finals of the 2014 ISSA/LIME Manning Cup football competition.

The match is the second game of a Group H double-header at the Constant Spring field.

It represents the final second round match of the group, which also features Calabar and Haile Selassie.

Wolmer’s Boys, who suffered a shock 1-0 defeat against Holy Trinity in the semi-finals of the inaugural Super Cup, enters today contest with a crucial two-point lead.

With the two-point lead, the Wolmerians only need a draw to book the first semi-final spot.

And the Heroes Circle-based schools has the psychological advantage going into the contest after whipping St George’s College 3-0 nine days ago in the Super Cup quarter-finals.

The other two schools in the group – Calabar and Haile Selassie – face off in the first match of the double header at 1 p.m.

However, the match is of academic interest.
