JLP caretaker appeals for Lacovia Road to be repaired

Published:Tuesday | November 4, 2014 | 9:58 AM

Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) caretaker for South West St Elizabeth Floyd Green is appealing to the member of parliament for the area, Hugh Buchanan, to take urgent steps to have the Watchwell to Lacovia Road repaired.

He says the MP should allocate some of his Constituency Development Fund to this venture.

Green’s call follows yesterday’s protest by residents of the constituency who blocked the road between Mountainside and Burnt Savannah to bring attention to the poor road conditions.

Green says the roadway is in an atrocious state. He says it is a disservice to the residents that they have been forced to endure such a condition daily.

He says the residents have had to endure high motor vehicle repair bills and the reluctance of public transport operators to service the area.
