CRICKET: Ramdin removed as T&T captain
West Indies Test captain, Denesh Ramdin, has cried victimisation after he was fired as captain of the Trinidad & Tobago squad for the forthcoming domestic four-day tournament.
Ramdin says he was shocked when he received the news during a meeting with the executive of the T&T Cricket Board to discuss the new season yesterday.
Allrounder Rayad Emrit has been appointed captain of the T&T side.
Ramdin’s removal as captain follows an assurance from the T&T Cricket Board that its national players involved in the aborted tour of India, would not face censure.
Ramdin was among the 15-man Windies squad that quit the India tour over a contracts row with the West Indies Players Association.
The T&T Cricket Board had strongly condemned the decision to abandon the tour in the form of a motion, moved at a recent board level.
