Australia has levelled the Twenty20 series against South Africa at 1-1 after a comprehensive seven-wicket win in Melbourne today.

The Australians, beaten by the same margin in Adelaide on Wednesday, were superior with bat and ball to cruise to victory.

The home side restricted South Africa to 101 for seven off their 20 overs with skipper JP Duminy topscoring with 49 off 51 balls.

Doug Bollinger and Sean Abbott took three wickets each for Australia, while James Faulkner supported with two.

Australia had had few problems reaching the victory target of 102.

They replied with 102 for three in 12.4 overs to wrap up victory.

Aaron Finch topscored with 44 not out, while Shane Watson hit 30.

The series now goes to a decider in Sydney on Sunday.
