Women escape police custody in St Elizabeth

Two female prisoners are now at large after they escaped from police custody in St Elizabeth last night.

The police say the two women, who were being held at the Pedro Plains Police Station had complained of not feeling well and were taken to the Black River hospital.

It is reported that on the way back to the police station the women escaped from the custody of a Sergeant and District Constable who had transported them to the hospital.

The police say investigations into the matter are ongoing.
