NWU gets new executive
A full slate of executives have been selected to guide the affairs of the National Workers Union (NWU) for the next three years.
General Secretary of the NWU, Granville Valentine, says the team was confirmed during a special congress yesterday, ending months of controversy at one of the largest trade unions in the country.
Other members of the executive include: President Leo Osbourne, who replaces veteran trade unionist Vincent Morrison; vice presidents, Rohan Lewis and Allan Hunter and Island Supervisor Kirk Fletcher.
Valentine says the team is ready to champion the cause of the worker and warns that in the coming weeks, the NWU will be announcing some new approaches to representation.
