Police and customs officials seized more than $26 million worth of cocaine and ganja at the Kingston Wharves last week.

The police say no one was taken into custody in relation to the seizures.

In the latest operation, officers from the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division and the Contraband Enforcement Team discovered 15 kilograms or $21 million worth of cocaine on Saturday.

The police say the cocaine was found in a container originating from Suriname, while the teams conducted routine security checks of cargo vessels.

The container was reportedly observed to have discrepancies with its seal.

During the search, two black knapsack bags were checked and found to contain seven parcels of cocaine wrapped in masking tape.

Ganja, valued at $5.1 million, was seized earlier in the week, on Tuesday and Friday.
