Improved security for downtown Kingston

The Kingston Central police have warned that covert operations are among a number of measures to be put in place to boost security in the busy downtown Kingston commercial district.

Superintendent Mickey Scott, who heads the Kingston Central Police, says the division’s street crimes unit, bicycle patrol team, as well as its beat and foot patrol unit have been strengthened significantly to improve security downtown.

Scott says a police post has been established inside the St William Grant Park to improve security in and around the facility.

He is also appealing to motorists not to pay anyone to park their vehicles in public spaces, but instead report such activities to the Kingston Central police station.
