CRICKET: Sheldon Cottrell declares himself fit

Published:Tuesday | November 25, 2014 | 11:06 AM

West Indies fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell says he is now fit and ready to resume his international cricket career.

Cottrell is returning to cricket after being out for close to six weeks due to a hamstring injury.

The 25-year-old, who has been selected in West Indies Test squad for next month’s tour of South Africa, picked up the injury last month while in Sri Lanka playing for the West Indies A Team.

Cottrell says he is 100 per cent fit now and looking to play a lot of cricket.

He will play in Jamaica Franchise’s next game away to Trinidad and Tobago, beginning on Friday, as a means of proving his fitness.

Cottrell has played one Test and three Twenty20 International matches for the West Indies.
