Finance minister heads to Chile for high-level meeting
Finance minister Dr Peter Phillips is to travel to Chile to participate in a high-level conference being held by the International Monetary Fund and that country’s ministry of finance.
The conference is being held under the theme 'Challenges for securing growth and shared prosperity in Latin America and the Caribbean'.
It is aimed at facilitating discussions with Latin America and Caribbean officials, the short and long-term economic issues impacting the region.
Phillips is to be accompanied by financial secretary Devon Rowe and director general of the Planning Institute of Jamaica Colin Bullock.
They will leave the island on December 3 and return on December 8.
The trip will cost the Government $3.9 million.
