Increased showers until Monday - Met Service
The Meteorological Service says Jamaicans should expect an increase in showers over the next two days.
The Met Service says a stationary front is currently across Jamaica and the Windward Passage and is expected to linger just east and influence the weather over the island until Monday.
Satellite Imagery and Radar reports indicate that an area of showers and thunderstorms has been affecting mainly eastern parishes over the past 12 to 18 hours.
Projections are therefore for periods of light to moderate showers and thunderstorms, which could be heavy at times mainly during early morning and late afternoon/evening.
The unstable weather conditions are expected to persist over Jamaica and its territorial waters on Sunday and Monday.
Fishers and other small craft operators should exercise caution over the period as strong, gusty winds are expected in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms, especially over south.
