CRICKET: Taijul hat-trick completes 5-0 sweep for Bangladesh

Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam became the first bowler to claim a hat trick on debut in One-Day International (ODI) cricket as Bangladesh completed a 5-0 series win against Zimbabwe in Mirpur today.



Bangladesh won the fifth match by five wickets.



Islam took four for 11 to help Bangladesh dismiss Zimbabwe for 128 in 30 overs.

Islam, replacing Rubel Hossain, took his first ODI wicket at the start of the 27th over, trapping Solomon Mire lbw.



Two balls into the start of the 29th over, he had four wickets and had completed his hat trick.



Bangladesh claimed victory by scoring 130 for five in 24 point three overs with Mahmudullah contributing 51 not out.



Zimbabwe fast bowler Tendai Chatara had career best figures of three for 44 while his new ball partner Tinashe Panyangara took two for 49.



For Zimbabwe, Hamilton Masakadza top scored with 52 and Vusi Sibandan scored 37.
